Hey,

I've got a Note 10 Lite, and after the latest update to One UI version 5.1, my video calls turned green, just the color green. It's a bit like the Hulk but not as fun.

WhatsApp and Messenger show my camera and others' cameras working, but they only see a green screen. 🟢

Oddly enough, when I use the camera app, everything's fine. I can take photos and record without a hitch.

Here's what I've tried so far:

  1. Wiping the cache partition.
  2. Cleaning up all app settings.
  3. Making sure all my apps are up to date.
  4. Made sure there's no video call effects on

Could you work your magic and help me exhibit my kids to their relatives? 🙏

Thanks a million!

Best,
Hugo

Looks like their device is not a Canadian device.

Looks like it is the International Exynos variant.

So you can't get that build on your Canadian Snapdragon variant.

Personally I think that it's a Facebook / Meta problem with WhatsApp.

Google Pixel 6 users were reporting something similar with WhatsApp.

Not to mention that there is no issue with video calls on Telegram, Zoom, Skype, Signal etc.. Just Facebook / Meta apps.

I am having the same issue. Samsung has serious quality control issues on their hands. I'm not happy. I spent needless hours trying to figure out if my device was faulty. You are about to lose a customer.

Did you bother to read the post immediately before yours?

Google Pixel 6 owners have been reporting a similar issue with their Google devices.

It's only occurring with Facebook / Meta's WhatsApp & Messenger.

It's not happening with any other Video Calling app.

Maybe try posting on Facebook / Meta's community forums..

Apple Community as well have issues with WhatsApp..

Maybe threaten to leave Facebook / Meta.. 🙄

Agreed. Other apps are working. Tried with WhatsApp and Facebook initially. Forgot that WhatsApp is part of Facebook. My apologies to Samsung for quickly blaming them.

Solution:

Samsung officially published new version of UI 5.1

Again, not meta, Samsung published -as expected- a new firmware and everything is working now

Open your phone's menu end check firmware updates, install and make whatsapp and messenger video calls as usual

If not published in your country, wait

New version
One UI version: 5.1

Why are you posting this on Samsung Members Canada??

You have an INTERNATIONAL EXYNOS DEVICE!

It is completely irrelevant for Canadian Note 10 devices!

Obviously not for you Samsung fan boy,

I think I'm helping people more than you here, what are you doing other than trying to convince people to expect updates from Meta and not from Samsung?

We are trying to help  people here -who get updated their phones and solved problem- there is no other popular Samsung title in internet, the problem has been solved with the update in our  countries, other countries (including Canada) will be updated soon and the problem will be solved, just wait a while, or you can push meta if you wih

You are clearly out of your depth here son. Calling me a "Samsung fan boy", just further demonstrates your ignorance of Samsung Members Canada.

The fact that WhatsApp & Messenger have been reported as having issues on Apple products, as well as other Android devices, ie: Google Pixel devices.. but sure keep going with your "helpful" approach.

If you believe that a recent update for your Exynos device, "fixed" the issue for you, great.. that doesn't necessarily translate into Canada's Snapdragon variant getting the same results, nor does it exclude the likelihood that an update to WhatsApp, or Messenger is the reason.. and notwithstanding the fact that no similar issues were reported for any other Video Calling app.
