Hey,

I've got a Note 10 Lite, and after the latest update to One UI version 5.1, my video calls turned green, just the color green. It's a bit like the Hulk but not as fun.

WhatsApp and Messenger show my camera and others' cameras working, but they only see a green screen. 🟢

Oddly enough, when I use the camera app, everything's fine. I can take photos and record without a hitch.

Here's what I've tried so far:

  1. Wiping the cache partition.
  2. Cleaning up all app settings.
  3. Making sure all my apps are up to date.
  4. Made sure there's no video call effects on

Could you work your magic and help me exhibit my kids to their relatives? 🙏

Thanks a million!

Best,
Hugo

Big thanks for all the tips you've shared! 🙌

Just a quick update:

  • Tried safe mode, but it disables WhatsApp, so I couldn't see if the issue still hangs around.
  • Also, my WhatsApp doesn't seem to have any video settings that I can tinker with. 🤷‍♂️

Any other ideas? Your help is much appreciated!

Cheers, Hugo

Is there a Link to step-down the UI to the previous one ?

Which UI are you talking about, Samsung's One UI version, or WhatsApp?

I don't think that it's a Samsung issue, but..

Have a look at the link below, it's from about a year & a half ago.

Someone said that a Factory Reset fixed the issue for them?

I've had the same problem and have no idea how to fix it I done everything the same as you and it's still green. Right after updating the phone this all happened.

Hi

I have the same problem with my samsung note 10 lite. I've been searching for a way to sort this with no joy. It has only happened since I updated my phone so its got to be something to do with the latest update and note 10 lites. I hope we find a solution soon. 🙏

I have the same issue on my Galaxy Note10 Lite. I tried:

- reinstalling WhatsApp and Messenger

- starting phone in Safe Mode

- factory reset

None of the above steps helped. And the problem still persists. The camera works fine on its own and during video calls on Instagram and Google Meet. It doesn't work for WhatsApp and Messenger. I believe it's because of the latest Samsung update that unfortunately cannot be rolled back.

Although, after trying a video call by Google Meet in safe mode when I tried doing a WhatsApp video call on normal mode, it worked for a brief moment but as soon as I flipped the camera the green screen bug returned.

I hope Samsung acknowledges this and comes out with a hot fix soon!

Did you see my last post?

It doesn't appear to have anything to do with the latest update, as the issue has been reported more than a year and a half ago.

Same here, looks like started just after UI update. People had similar green screen problems before but these caused by screen hardware failure. This one looks like related with the last update and appears only in meta softwares like whatsapp or messenger. I can use my camera in teams, signal, telegram etc. without any issue.
Samsung or meta must be release a new update for us.
