Annoying Google popup is annoying

Anyone else get this infuriating popup? I don't want it and it won't go away. It interrupts every app. 

I don't want that messaging nonsense. Who thought it's a good idea to release something as obnoxiously intrusive as this popup?

That chat feature is great in the messaging app. Why wouldn't you want it?

The only time I use messaging is to get one time codes. Everything else is signal/WhatsApp 😄

Thank you, i did this and now I'm not getting ANY sms incoming. I can send them out alright, but not receiving any.

A shame, having to disable an otherwise useful feature.

No issues with Google Messages on my S20 Ultra, BUT it wasn't a system app on my phone & I downloaded it from the Play Store. 

I'm not sure if this issue is only happening to people where Google Messages was preinstalled by Samsung as a system app?
