You must first install this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aefyr.sai
This is SAI, or Split APK Installer. It is necessary to install the Google Messages OneUI APK, as it is an apkS (for split, understandably).

Then, download this file, which is the right APKS: https://1drv.ms/u/s!Av9nrwh43L-agqEONb2_tvpJTuymoQ (my own hosting, so it is safe)

Now open SAI, select the Install option, choose the system selector, navigate to the Download folder and search for the APKS you've just downloaded.

Select Install on the following screen. Google Messages with OneUI will be installed in a matter of seconds.

I'm using Google Messages v.8.5.023 (Vitex_RC01) on my S20 Ultra.

Works perfectly on Rogers.

Thanks, I should have been clearer, I meant the version of Google Messages which was modified to look more like one ui.

I don't think that there's any version of Google Messages that has been modified to look "more like One UI", I'm not even sure what that means?

There's no official version of Google Messages other than the Stable version or the Beta version. So unless you're thinking about an Unofficial modified version (which I definitely wouldn't recommend), then you can download it from the Play Store or apk mirror.

The version that I'm using is the latest Beta version of Google Messages.

Yes there is. It looks a lot like Samsung Messages. Theres no way to select that specific version. This is what it looks like:

Okay now I see what you were referring to.

I just checked on apk mirror & there's nothing for this version available yet.

It may depend on what device you have, whether or not it will be pushed to your phone?

Interesting that Samsung has ditched it's own messaging app, in favour of Google's.

Thanks RedDogRabbit, I might try the beta version of Google Messages. Find it strange that the S21 versions of Galaxy S have defaulted to using Google (and not Samsung) Messages
